1949 Cyclone screening technology
The cyclone screening machine, built of wood by Adolf Zimmermann in 1949 in the German town of Osterburken, was the starting point for AZO as a company. This new screening technology became the example to follow for an entire generation of screening machines.
AZO followed a consistent pattern of introducing new highlights to the cyclone screening market with machines for use in the delivery flow, a sterilisable hygiene version for the pharmaceuticals industry and the DA dual-drive model offering superlative ease of cleaning and operation.
1965 Vacuum conveying systems
With the experience it gained from its fan conveyor systems, AZO went on to develop suction conveyor systems and is considered to be a pioneer and trailblazer in the field of pneumatic suction systems.
The benefits of this system, including product feed to a sealed system and a compact, low-profile design made this type of conveyor technology a real winner for applications such as the feeding of processing machines, automatic charging units, driers, mills etc.
1972 Vacuum weighing systems
When AZO developed its suction weighing systems, comprising the patented multiport valve and the conveyor scales, the company successfully entered the market for kneading and mixer feeding units. This trailblazing technology, initially treated with condescending smiles, went on to become the benchmark standard in the mixer loading sector. No other technology is capable of delivering the same number of components to the point (a mixer in this case) so cost-effectively.
1983 Operating concepts- display systems
In the early Eighties, AZO became the first manufacturer of automatic feeding systems for bulk materials to equip its systems with a colour monitor for process display purposes. Used in conjunction with individual material handling software, this became a standard feature of modern material handling systems.
1985 AZO COMPONENTER® - DOSITAINER®
In the mid-eighties, AZO developed the COMPONENTER®, a system with numerous variants for automatic, ultra-precise weighing of small and micro quantities, a feature often required in mixer feeding applications where every gramme matters. With this ground-breaking development, AZO succeeded in integrating the full range of components in an automation process.
1993 Liquid weighing systems
Additive and negative weighing technique for loading fluids into mixer processes. With increasing frequency, customers were specifying the need for integration of fluids in the automation process for mixer loading operations. For highly viscous fluids such as honey and oils, AZO developed new negative weighing systems which make it possible to feed fluids of this kind into the mixing process, accurately weighed to-the-gramme.
2003 DosiBox® - DosiLogistic®
The low-cost revolution in the small component automation sector.
Incorporating the DosiBox® into the DosiLogistic® system opened the way to extending the range and scale of automation systems for small components. Individual automation concepts can now be implemented, ranging from automatic metering systems for small components up to fully-automatic logistics systems for small components.
