MEMPHIS, TN — 10/18/2022 — AZO, Inc., a leading global provider of bulk material handling solutions, has named Mike Miller the new director of sales for the company’s food division. Miller has been with AZO since 2015, starting out in customer service and most recently serving as the sales manager for the company’s vital division that serves the life science, pharmaceutical/nutraceutical, beverage, dairy and confection industries. In his new director role, Miller will oversee the food division’s sales department and lead efforts to cultivate relationships with AZO customers.

Over the last few years, Miller has tried on various aspects of this position under the company’s marketing collective by leading, directing and managing marketing efforts. Informally executing tasks in the past to capitalize on new opportunities and take on new challenges, he looks forward to applying those same efforts in a more formal role.

“It’s a unique opportunity to help carry out vision for finding and reaching new customers and help the sales team execute on gaining more of the market share,” Miller said.

In line with the company’s current growth phase and efforts to be more efficient on a holistic scale, Miller is overseeing plans to support efficiency within sales operations.

“We are in the transition of going from better to best,” he said. “Our goal is to grow and expand, and I’m eager to bring in new folks on the sales side and show them the AZO way so they can become experts in the space.”

Backed by efficient operations, AZO will have even more resources to support the food industry manufacturers they serve.

This September, AZO attended the International Baking Industry Exposition (IBIE) where their theme was minor- and micro-ingredient automation and AZO batching equipment — including COMPONENTER® — was showcased. While the equipment is designed to accelerate production and ensure quality, it’s paired with a consultative approach that enables AZO to provide manufacturers with a complete package.

“What sets AZO apart in the material handling industry is our ability to interject ourselves into a manufacturing process and find where we can help that company,” Miller said. “We present and provide equipment that meets throughput requirements as well as accuracy needs so that recipe integrity is maintained throughout the process.”

As the industry trends toward smarter material handling systems that enable predictive maintenance and minimize downtime, AZO is focused on continued innovation to meet modern manufacturing needs.

“We’re just now seeing equipment roll out that has the sensors and monitoring hardware and then also the software to analyze the data,“ Miller noted. “While still an emerging technology, that’s where manufacturers who are willing to invest will put their dollars.“
